How can we help?

Insert the privacy text automatically

An element in your privacy policy shows the section on reactive.chat – matching your project settings, in the language of your page and always up to date.

Instead of copying the text block for your privacy policy and adapting it by hand, you can insert it automatically. You place one element in your privacy policy, and the section on reactive.chat appears there:

The text is a template, not legal advice.

The element

Put this where the section should appear in your privacy policy:

<div data-rc-privacy></div>

Requirement: the regular embed snippet is on that page too – as on every page where the chat appears. No further code is needed. You will find a copyable example in your account under Project → Embed → Insert the privacy text automatically, together with a preview of the text with your current settings.

Language, heading, contact address

<div data-rc-privacy data-lang="en" data-heading="2" data-email="privacy@your-domain.com"></div>

The text takes on the design of your page: it consists of a heading and paragraphs, without colours or fonts of its own. Below the text it says that the English version is binding, and which version of the template it is.

Without consent, without storage

A privacy policy must be readable even when a visitor declines consent. The text therefore appears regardless:

Showing the text stores nothing in the browser (no cookie, no localStorage, no sessionStorage) and sends no visitor identifier. The browser only fetches the text; like with any file request, reactive.chat receives the visitor's IP address and the address of your website as the origin – but not the address of the individual page.

The text only appears on the websites entered as domains in your project.

If the text does not appear

  <script src="https://cdn.reactive.chat/datenschutz.js" data-rc-site-key="YOUR_SITE_KEY" async></script>

Whatever you write inside the element stays there until the text has loaded – and also if it cannot be loaded. You can, for example, put a link to the text block there.

The attribute data-rc-privacy-state on the element shows whether the text was loaded: done (shown), error (not loaded) or loading.
